Castelo Branco will host the roadshow for the national campaign “Let\u2019s separate the waste” on July 10, 11, and 12 at the Civic Center, next to the Multimedia Illuminated Fountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative by the Portuguese Environmental Agency (APA) is part of a national environmental awareness campaign touring district capitals. It aims to bring citizens closer to issues regarding urban waste management, fostering understanding, active participation, and the adoption of more sustainable behaviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In partnership with the Municipality of Castelo Branco and the Castelo Branco Municipal Services, the roadshow will be set up in a sustainable trailer. It will be open to visitors on July 10 (9:00 AM \u2013 6:00 PM), July 11 (9:00 AM \u2013 8:00 PM), and July 12 (11:00 AM \u2013 6:00 PM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the course of the three days, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a diverse range of interactive activities designed for all ages, encouraging reflection on current challenges in urban waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative promotes waste prevention, the proper sorting of bio-waste, and resource recovery\u2014key pillars of an increasingly circular and sustainable economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inside the vehicle, various educational and multimedia experiences will be available, including a themed quiz, a sustainable consumption simulator, a giant puzzle, a wheel of fortune, an exhibition and olfactory experience area, and a lecture zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By participating in the activities taking place inside the vehicle, attendees can win giveaways such as eco-friendly bags, totes, and lanyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outside, visitors can take part in the “mural of excuses” and a board game focused on sustainability themes. Simultaneously, a street activation will take place, with promoters circulating on foot and by bicycle in the surrounding area, inviting the public to visit the space and join in the activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At a time when the challenges of urban waste management are becoming increasingly important for the population’s quality of life and the preservation of natural resources, this initiative reinforces the need to engage citizens, public institutions, security forces, civil society organizations, and other local stakeholders in building a culture of environmental responsibility and civic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holding this Road Show in Castelo Branco represents a significant institutional commitment to sustainability and offers an opportunity to raise community awareness about adopting more conscious and responsible practices, thereby contributing to an environmentally sustainable future for Castelo Branco, the Beira Baixa region, and the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
