Regulation Regulation

Regulated Offer of Passive Access to the Fiber Network

On 27 December 2023, ANACOM approved the Decision on the Analysis of Markets for Access to Physical Infrastructure, Wholesale Local Access at a Fixed Location and Wholesale Central Access at a Fixed Location (“Decision”), which determined, in particular, that the Altice Group holds significant market power in the wholesale local access market at a fixed location in the areas identified in the Decision, imposing on it a set of regulatory obligations, including the need to publish reference offers for wholesale access to the fibre optic network of companies belonging to the Altice Group (which includes FastFiber – Infraestruturas de Comunicações, S.A. – “FastFiber”) in these areas, in the unbundled fibre optic access (PON/ODF unbundling) and bitstream fibre optic access modalities.

In compliance with ANACOM's Decision of 27 December 2023, FastFiber makes available, to operators and providers of electronic communications networks and/or services duly authorised by ANACOM to operate in the national territory, the Regulated Offer of Passive Access to the Fibre Network, in the modality of unbundled access to optical fibre (PON/ODF unbundling), for access to its network in the areas indicated.

Fibroglobal, a company owned by FastFiber, in compliance with the same Decision, also makes available, to operators and providers of electronic communications networks and/or services duly authorised by ANACOM to operate in the national territory, a Regulated Offer of Passive Access to the Fibre Network for access to its network in the areas indicated, which can be consulted here.
