Clube de Golf Santo da Serra
A historic 27-hole venue surrounded by mountains, forest and sweeping views over the bay of Machico.
With a natural setting stretching from Madeira’s green mountains to the bay of Machico, Clube de Golf Santo da Serra is one of the island’s most memorable golf experiences.
Located around 15 minutes from Madeira Airport, the course first opened in 1937 and was redesigned in 1991 by Robert Trent Jones Sr. It features 27 holes divided into three nine-hole circuits: Serras, Machico and Desertas.
Across 9,003 metres, Clube de Golf Santo da Serra combines dramatic valleys, lakes, bunkers and expansive views, creating a varied and scenic challenge for golfers.
Each of its three circuits offers a different perspective on Madeira’s landscape: the Serras Course is closely connected to nature, the Machico Course overlooks one of the island’s most historic bays, and the Desertas Course offers distant Atlantic views towards the islands to the south-east of Madeira.
With its peaceful atmosphere, refined setting and strong connection to nature, Santo da Serra is a course designed for golfers who want both challenge and tranquillity.
